FAQs / Help

How do I use my Online Tickets?

You will be emailed an order confirmation that will include your unique Booking Reference Number and a barcode that also contains this number. You may make a note of this number and take with you when you visit the Fort in place of a ticket, although we suggest printing out the email or having it available on your mobile device as this will contain a barcode which will grant you quicker access.

What happens when I buy a ticket online?

On completion of your order, you will be emailed a DigiTicket containing a barcode and booking reference number.  Present this ticket on arrival, either on your mobile device or printed out. If you don’t have a printer or a mobile device, simply make a note of the Booking Reference Number.

I don't have a printer...

You do not have to print out the 8 digit booking reference – simply make a note of the Booking Reference Number and take it with you, coupled with some ID.

Is there wheelchair access?

Yes. All of the Fort’s exhibitions, the Tea Room and the Gift Shop are accessible by wheelchair. However, some of the tunnels and ramparts are not accessible due to the nature of the architecture and building structure. If you require any assistance or clarification, please call ahead on 01273 517622, email us at fortinfo@waveleisure.co.uk or ask a staff member during your visit.

Can I purchase a ticket on the day?

If there are spaces available you can book in person at the Fort on the day, but if we are full, then you may not be able to enter. We strongly recommend that you book your ticket in advance in order to guarantee entry and to avoid disappointment.

How can I get in contact with you?

What constitutes a “Family” ticket?

A Family Ticket allows entry for 1 or 2 adults and up to 3 children between the ages of 4 and 15. There is no charge for children under 4.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid is a very simple idea from the taxman which enables Newhaven Fort to reclaim the tax paid on donations. Our tickets allow you to access the Fort for free for 12 months from the date of your first visit and this allows us to treat your entrance fee as a donation, at no extra cost to you. If you complete a Gift Aid declaration at checkout this will allow us to treat your entry fee as a donation and reclaim 25p for every £1 spent. That makes a huge difference towards the conservation and restoration of the Fort.

If you do not wish to, or are not able to, Gift Aid your entry fee then simply choose the option that says 'Please do NOT treat my payment as a Gift Aid donation' at checkout.

You will see a notification asking you to continue if you are happy to give a donation anyway or to choose an alternative ticket. Please note that there are no alternative tickets as the price is the same whether or not you Gift Aid your entry. Simply continue with your purchase - you will not be charged any extra for your ticket.

Do you issue refunds?

No, we regret we are unable to issue refunds online.  Please speak to us at the Fort on 01273 517622.
